With deep sorrow, AFAS mourns the passing of our esteemed founding past president, Mr. Mohd Amin, who left us peacefully on 1st February 2025 at the age of 93.
Amin was more than a leader—he was a visionary, a pioneer in the financial advisory industry, and a guiding force behind the establishment and growth of our association. His unwavering commitment, wisdom, and dedication shaped the foundation of AFAS, leaving an indelible mark on our community.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Amin was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the AFAS Annual Conference 2023, presented by Minister Chan Chun Sing. This accolade was a testament to his decades of leadership and his profound impact on the financial advisory profession in Singapore.
Among his many contributions, Amin co-authored Story of the Financial Advisory Industry in Singapore alongside Raymond Ng and Alfred Chia, a significant work that chronicled the evolution of our profession. His passion for the industry and his belief in its role in shaping financial well-being continue to inspire us.
As we honour Amin’s remarkable legacy, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un —to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return. May he rest in eternal peace and may his life’s work continue to inspire future generations of financial advisers.
AFAS will forever be grateful for Amin’s leadership and the values he championed. His memory will live on in our hearts as we build upon the strong foundation he laid.
